Crack Stitching in Louisiana
Crack Stitching for Brick, Block & Concrete Walls
Crack stitching ties a cracked wall back together. Reinforcing bars are set across the crack and bonded in place, so the wall carries load as one piece again. On a Cable Lock job, we fix the cause of the movement first, so the crack stays closed.

Why it matters
A Crack Is a Symptom. Stitching Gives the Wall Its Strength Back.
Brick, block, and concrete are strong under weight but weak when they are pulled apart. When Louisiana soil shifts under a home, walls crack where they are weakest — around doors, windows, and corners. Filling the crack with mortar or caulk hides it; crack stitching reconnects both sides of the wall so it can do its job again.
How it works
Fix the Cause, Then Stitch the Crack.
A stitched wall only stays closed when the ground under it has stopped moving. That is why every crack stitching job starts with the foundation.
Find the Cause
We look at why the wall cracked — soil movement, settling, tree roots, or water — before recommending any repair.
Stitch the Crack
Slots are cut across the crack, reinforcing bars are set in and bonded with a high-strength grout, tying both sides of the wall back together.
Finish and Protect
The repair is finished to blend with the wall and paired with leveling or stabilization when the foundation still needs it.

Crack stitching FAQs
Straight Answers About Crack Stitching.
What is crack stitching?
Crack stitching is a masonry repair for cracked brick, block, and concrete walls. Slots are cut across the crack, reinforcing bars are set into them and bonded in place, and the wall is tied back together so both sides work as one again.
Does crack stitching fix foundation movement?
No. Stitching restores strength to the cracked wall, but it does not stop the ground from moving. If the foundation is still settling or shifting, it needs to be stabilized or leveled first — otherwise new cracks can form.
Will the repair show?
The slots are filled and finished to blend with the wall. Older brick and mortar colors vary, so an exact match is not always possible, but the repair is far less visible than an open crack.
How do I know if I need crack stitching or leveling?
Stair-step cracks in brick, cracks over doors and windows, and cracks that keep growing are worth an evaluation. A free on-site estimate tells you whether the wall needs stitching, the foundation needs leveling, or both.
